Laura James Jewelry began as a means of self-expression for founder and designer Laura Schmelzer James. Her love for collecting one of a kind antique jewelry coupled with her creative nature and background in design paved the way for Laura James Jewelry to emerge. 

Intrigued most with the historical past behind heirloom jewelry, Laura James naturally founded her jewelry business with antique and vintage components taking center stage. To broaden her range, James honed her Metal-smithing skills at both Arrowmont and Penland School of Craft.  

Handcrafted solely by Mississippi native Laura Schmelzer James in her window-filled North Carolina studio where she has resided for the past nine years, James blends her Southern heritage and global travels with her affinity for one of a kind vintage components, gold, silver, vermeil and semiprecious stones. Charity: Laura James Jewelry was chosen by  Deanna Favre, wife of Quarterback Brett Favre, to create the official jewelry for her established philanthropy "The Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation" (www.DeannaFavre4Hope.com) which gives back fifty percent of each necklace sold to this cause.
