Laura James Jewelry began as a means of self-expression for founder and designer Laura Schmelzer James. Her love for collecting one of a kind antique jewelry propelled her to explore the idea of creating timeless yet trend-setting jewelry unique to each personality that donned it. Drawing inspiration from her love for nature and travels to Asia, Europe and Central America, Laura merged her creative passion with her background in Marketing, Fashion and Retail to make Laura James Jewelry a reality. Honing her metal fabrication techniques at the esteemed Penland School of Craft proved to be time well spent when Lucky Magazine came calling soon thereafter to have Laura James Jewelry in their 2007 December Gift Guide. Most recently, Laura James Jewelry was requested to outfit Rumer Willis in the upcoming film Sorority Row, was featured on the hit television series, Gossip Girl and will be showcased in the film They Came From Upstairs starring Ashley Tisdale. Laura James Jewelry was also chosen by Deanna Favre, wife of Quarterback Brett Favre, to create the official jewelry for her established philanthropy "The Deanna Favre Foundation" (www.DeannaFavre4Hope.com) which gives back fifty percent of each necklace sold to this cause.
