Well we certainly weren't disappointed with last night's 54th annual Grammy Awards! From bold color (Fergie!) to stunning jewelry...and lets not forget the fabulous performances and tributes to the late Whitney Houston, it was certainly a night to camp out in front of the tele. Here are our fave moments from the evening:

We were excited to see Gwyneth in signature style- showing off her incredibly toned Tracy Anderson body in a sleek number by BFF Stella McCartneyGwyneth Paltrow dress Grammys as she introduced Adele's return to music (after a brief hiatus to repair her vocal chords).

We LOVED the necklace Linda Ramone rocked and are still trying to hunt down the skinny on it...Linda Ramone Necklace Grammys Her hair color isn't bad either- looks like she and Fergie took note as to Pantone's 2012 color for the year..."Tangerine Tango".

Which leads us to another big moment of the night. Mrs. Duhmel had us counting down the minutes till Spring Break with her Beach Goddess flawless makeup and Mermaid-esque Tangerine Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture dress. Gold Neil Lane hoop earrings and a bold statement cuff were the perfect way to complement this look without detracting from her intricately laser-cut dress.

      Fergie Orange Dress Grammys

Another big moment for us was the Asscher cut earrings on Katy Perry - not to mention her blue hair! These days it seems Day Glo is the way to go to stand out... platinum and jet-black are a thing of the past. Katy Perry Asscher Cut Earrings Grammys

Her performance was IN-Sane as she rocked the stage in full force with a new song that clearly was a stab at her recent Ex Russell Brand. I think the line "So you can keep the diamond ring/ It don't mean nothing anyway" summed it all up!

We had to give our fave Overall Jaw-Dropping look to Miss Rhianna. She stole the Red Carpet in her self-designed plunging black dress that was inspired by this dress worn by Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface years ago. Paired with her effortless newly-Blonde curls and fabulous jewels from snake rings to arm cuffs to body chains...we were captivated!

    Rhianna from the Grammys 2012

And for one last nod...we have to give it to Miss Hilton. She definitely wins the category for Most Improved in this gown by Basil Soda as she was there to announce HER new album dropping soon (!): Paris Hilton Basil Soda Dress Grammys

Hollywood's leading ladies stepped out at last night's 18th Annual SAG Awards adorned head to toe in bright hued dresses from Jade (Emily Blunt) to Cobalt (Jessica Chastain)...and the jewelry certainly didn't disappoint. Chunky gold and diamond bracelets were wrapped around nearly every celebrity's wrist and often stacked against thinner bangles.

Our clear winners of the night had a 70's feel to them... like Rose Byrne's ivory sequined pantsuit by Elie Saab that highlighted her recently bluntly bobbed hair.  Angelina Jolie's black halter Jenny Packham dress paired with vintage jewelry(!) was certainly a showstopper. We also loved those who opted for dresses in bold shades of blue and green, like Jessica Chastain's Cobalt blue Calvin Klein Collection column dress, or the Jade green one shoulder Oscar de la Renta dress worn by Emily Blunt. Additional standout looks worth noting were the ladies who dared to wear red like Kyra Sedgewick and Michelle Williams. Natalie Portman and Judy Greer opted to play it safe color-wise with shades ranging from White to Aubergine, but gave their looks edge with vintage bold colored stone jewelry. And that brings us to our favorite part of this post...the jewelry!

    Standout Jewelry Pairing Picks:

    Rose Byrne

Rose's look required minimal glitz from jewelry since her haircut was severe and her pantsuit sequined, so she kept it simple and chic with a sparkling gold and black chain link bracelet, gold ring, and diamond drop earrings.

    Angelina Jolie

Angelina added edge to her black halter Jenny Packham dress with stunning Vintage black and gold earrings and a statement cuff bracelet to complete the look.

    Mayim Bialik

We loved Mayim's pairing of a retro black dress with swinging diamond Earrings and a fabulous jewel-crusted frog Cuff Bracelet!

    Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain's cobalt blue Calvin Klein Collection dress showed off the Harry Winston 55-carat sapphire and diamond earrings...not to mention the 15-carat sapphire and diamond cocktail ring!

    Emily Blunt

On the arm of her handsome husband, Emily Blunt left everyone green with envy in this one shoulder jade green gem of a dress from Oscar de la Renta...especially with those Lorraine Schwartz jeweled bracelets stacked on her wrist.

    Kyra Sedgewick

Kyra flaunts that stunning figure of hers on the red carpet in a red hot Pucci cut-out dress with warm yellow gold + orange diamond jewelry by Fred Leighton.

    Michelle Williams

Wearing red on the red carpet can be risky... but no one makes red standout on an award's carpet better than Valentino. Michelle made her presence known in this red draped lace detailed dress coupled with a gorgeous Vintage Fred Leighton link bracelet.

    Natalie Portman

Natalie proved even the darkest shades can sparkle at award shows when she stepped out in a dark Aubergine Giambattista Valli dress and paired it with a stunning pair of Harry Winston diamond and ruby dangle earrings.

    Judy Greer

Judy looked white hot on last night's red carpet in Collette Dinnigan's confection of a dress. Paired with a stunning pair of contemporary ruby drop earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs... she looked simply lovely.

Pssst...Did you know the best way to kick those January winter blues is to head to Park City, Utah for the annual Sundance Film Festival?!

Sundance, founded by actor Robert Redford in 1981with merely a handful of colleagues, has transformed over the years into the ultimate "See & Be Seen" Winter destination for indie film newcomers and industry giants, actors, celebrities, and socialites alike. The charming and typically low-key ski town is overtaken by the industry this time each year for a week of screenings, skiing, parties... and Style Lounges filled with free swag including the latest jewelry and fashion labels. Here at Laura James Jewelry we live for the eclectic trends spotted at the festival which run the gamut from Street-Savvy to Chalet Chic.

This year the Jewelry Trends for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival ranged from chic stud earrings, layered gold charm necklaces, and stacked bangles to  tribal inspired statement necklaces like this bold design on actress Kristen Bell:

Fashion standouts included trend-setter Kirsten Dunst, a red-lipped Kate Bosworth, and the ever-androgynous Rashida Jones. Though fur-lined boots, vests, jackets and gloves were de rigueur on the slopes and streets, the favored shade when the sun went down was...black, of course.

You too can rock the jewelry trends spotted at this year's Sundance Film Festival ...from with Stud Earrings, Gold Charm Necklaces, Stacked Bangles + Bracelets, to Tribal Inspired Statement Necklaces - all available at Laura James Jewelry!

Award season 2012 officially kicked off with last night's 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards on NBC! Every award season brings the glitz and glam of the red carpet and last night proved to be no exception.  Hollywood's leading ladies of both the small and silver screen stepped out in true style; making their presence known on the red carpet; wearing dresses in shades ranging from neutrals to darks, others opting for the current color blocking trend, while some even dared to don red on the red carpet.

Standout looks we loved were the neutral dresses, especially those of with a hint of glitz, as well as the deep dark navys and jet blacks mixed with white. Yet overall, the clear winners of the night were anything in a pale pink, like Charlize Theron in Dior; pops of color, like the red panel atop Angelina Jolie's metallic cream Atelier Versace dress; and all the ladies in dresses the deepest shades of blue (but enough about dresses as our true love is always the jewelry that completes each and every one of these looks!).
